Infographics

For this assignment I chose something that has been a problem since 2014 in Michigan. Flint's water system has been a concern for many in Michigan even reaching federal concern. The lead levels alone have caused many health problems for residents even resulting in death. The problem is that even though things have improved for Flint residents many are still having to wash, prepare food, and drink bottled water that is no longer being supplied to them. Many of the residents have water pipes that contain lead, and the water coming from Flint's river is not being treated how it should. I chose to bounce back and forth on my infographic to draw the reader from left to right going down in an easy understanding way to show the timeline of how this all occurred. I chose to use NRDC.org (Natural Resources Defense Council) for my information, they have different sections that breakdown how the Flint Water Crisis unfolded and how it's progressed over the years. It even has a timeline you can view that breaks down each action that was taken and the results including the date. I was trying to find a subject that was important to a lot of people but didn't concern politics per say. I am trying to stay out of the current events of politics and choose something that everyone will probably write about. I also used some of the information I have previously wrote about for my last school. I watched a documentary by Cedric Taylor, called Nor Any Drop to Drink which has in depth research and interviews with residents involved. I think that by breaking down some of the main points and including graphics it makes the infographic easy to understand and worth looking at.

First I wrote out the main points I wanted to convey, then chose graphics that went along with it, placed the images behind the text and messed with the opacity.
