MST3K

 

    I remember watching 'Mystery Science Theater 3000' with my Dad on Sci Fi, it usually ran right after the 'Crypt Keeper' which was also a favorite. 

    I remember being a kid and loving the concept of watching cheesy movies and making fun of them, making them better in return. Yes, a lot of the jokes went straight over my head but it was still fun to spend the afternoon with my Dad watching t.v relaxing while Mom worked or cleaned the house. 

    I remember loving the intro to the song. Now if you look it up there are many different versions of the song as the lead actor does change but the part i loved was them introducing the robots:

Robot Roll Call!

Cambot! (Pan left!)

Gypsy! (Hi, girl!)

Tom Servo! (What a cool guy!)

Crooooow! (Oh, wisecracker!)

    Crow was, and still is my favorite character on the show. He's full of sass and the best remarks, he has a dry humor that you don't see everyday. 

    Now even though I was probably too young to enjoy the show fully I do remember renting the Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie when I was on a trip to my Aunt's house in West Virginia one year around age 13. For Christmas around the same age, I got Volume 1 and 2 DVD box set of MST3K. 

    It's something I've never had memories with anyone else with, it's special and unique to me and him. Here is what my Dad had to say about MST3K and us watching it together:
